just a silly story...

So here's a little sneak peak into our room - I hesitate to post a pic of our room because it's not quite fully decorated yet but I just couldn't resist posting the story that goes along with this pic (Warning: this story may be more entertaining to me than anyone else). I got home on Friday afternoon, to a boyfriend who had the afternoon off and discovered that he had taken it upon himself to do some redecorating. I had made Joe a "welcome home" card when he got back from DC and hung it up with some heart sticky notes in our living room. We ended up leaving the card hanging for the week, but I guess by Friday, Joe was ready for a change of scenery because when I walked into the bedroom, this is what I saw...

The heart stickers that were in our living room had been moved to our bedroom and thoughtfully placed 2 on each side of the bed! Joe calls it his environmentally conscious recycled decorating. I call it adorable.

oooooh and good news! The Farbielecki cannery has officially re-opened for the season. We found these beauties at the Farmer's market today and just finished making our 1st batch of Strawberry Jam. The kitchen smells amazing.

One more side note - I started an incredible class last Tuesday at Stanford. It's called Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and is based on a program founded by John Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts. It basically centers on the connection between mind and body and I have to confess, I am loving it. During our first class, we went around in a circle and shared what brought us to the class and I was in tears for at least half of it. I am awe-struck at what we as human beings endure in our lifetimes and I am even more awe-struck by the courage it takes to share these experiences. Along with a number of other things, the class guides us through developing a meditation practice. I am going to try to be disciplined about this to give it a fair shot. More to come on this for sure. For now, it's off to a Bikram Yoga class - eeek, wish me luck, it's been a while since I've done heated yoga.

OH MY GOODNESS! He is just too cute! Don't worry all of your stories will always be amusing to me too! :) I love the love notes! I am big on recycled decor as well!

I REALLY wish I could join you in that class. I have really been trying to focus on reducing my stress and so has the hubby. Wanna know something? Just last night I was trying to shut down my mind and get to sleep and I was thinking a couple of things. One, I was thinking that I really think that we should have a pre-photo shoot meeting just the two of us! Remember those yummy chai plans we had? That way it could be sooner!!! Second, I was TRULY wondering if you did hot yoga? I have been considering trying it and it looks so intense! What other yoga do you do when not doing the steamy one :)?

HAPPY TUESDAY! It's officially long comment day! :)

Tara - we sure got lucky didn't we?!

Lisa - this class is amazing. I just had my second one last night. I'll try writing a more in depth email soon to explain some of what is being talked about. If you're interested, I can burn you a copy of the meditation CD we are using - it might seem a little out there to some people, but my body is loving it. And yes, I would love, love, love to have a chai tea date! Should we start throwing out some dates? I'll include that in my email too. And hot yoga, well, I have to say, I didn't really like it - I prefer vinyasa flow or yin yoga. Bikram is 1)really hot and 2) a little boring, it's based on one set of 26 poses that are done in the same sequence each class - I prefer to mix it up a bit more. Big hugs to you and big deep breaths too. Lots of love!

Ooooh can't wait for the email and the vinyasa flow kind is the one I do! Good to get your feedback on the hot yoga. I didn't quite think it was for me. But I was willing to try it if you loved it! :)

Yes, let's throw out dates!

I would LOVE the meditation cd!!!

Talk to you soon!
